THE SWAN SONATA — NO. VI “NOCTURNE”Handcrafted Sculptural Swan

A poetic, one-of-a-kind sculptural swan, entirely handcrafted in the Cat-arzyna studio.

With her gracefully bowed head, delicate handmade crown and long, timeworn ribbon printed with musical notation, Nocturne has the quiet presence of a figure captured in the final moments of a performance.

Her body has been individually formed by hand using papier-mâché and cotton, creating the softly irregular surface and layered feather details characteristic of Cat-arzyna pieces. Subtle antique tones and gently aged finishes give the sculpture the appearance of an object discovered in an old European interior rather than newly made.

A handmade wire crown rests upon her head, while the long musical ribbon falls loosely around her curved neck and across the body, giving the piece a sense of movement and connecting her naturally to the world of The Swan Sonata.

Every detail has been shaped, painted and finished by hand. Small variations and imperfections are an intentional part of the work and make this sculpture entirely unique.

Created as an indoor decorative art piece and intended for display rather than play.
